The Bloom Report Vol 19 [Bloomology]

News, Resources, Opportunities, and Possibilities for Black and Brown women working in tech

A safe space for Black women in tech to flourish and live life in full bloom

Welcome To Friday! 📆

I just got back from witnessing one of the greatest entertainers of our time.

Usher’s Vegas residency is everything yall…. It’s a life experience, not a concert.

And to think he's not even in his prime ( or is he?).

I came back with so many feels and reflections.

Usher’s Vegas Residency Fit

So many thoughts like … “What if a person can have more than one prime or MVP season in their life”? Why did “they” only assign people one prime in their lives? I believe we need to have and deserve a least two or three prime times in life.

So many people said similar things after going to the Renaissance Tour and shared on socials how they were inspired and never the same. Usher has me thinking so deeply about life and how I want to live my life. I can’t say that I’ve ever been to another concert that had me feeling so reflective and introspective days later. That’s why I know it was such a one-in-a-lifetime experience!

We only have one life and one thing I’ve been really intentional about is living it to the fullest. To me that means constantly reinventing myself, designing my own dream life and the terms of those dreams, and not being afraid of going for the moonshot over and over again.

It really feels like this is Usher's time which is crazy because he already is a GOAT and has been for a long time now. He looked amazing was in top-tier shape, sounded incredible, and did not miss a step. The dance moves were crisp ( and gave boom boom cat #iykyk 🤣) and you can literally see how much work he put into every part of the performance.

I grew up on Usher so to see him still doing what he loves and what he is great at on such a high level really blew my mind. I'm so moved and inspired!

I came back wanting to do all the things I said I was going to do….forreal this time!

To be great at the things I say I love! And to put the work in to create a legacy of mastery around my craft. I had to talk to myself and say “Girl, you really not putting in “That Girl” work and energy on your goals and you need to align action and doing to what you say”! Sometimes you gotta read yourself sis!

Listen, Usher’s residency is a testament to reinvention and self-commitment. I came back looking into which areas of my life need a remix and reinvention and which areas need new commitments, re-commitments, or no commitment at all.

QOTD - Which areas or your life need a little reinvention or recommitment?

XoXo,

Jeneba
